PBS is behind The Great American Read, , the quest to discover America's Best Loved Novel.
How was this list put together you may wonder? PBS worked with "YouGov" a public opinion
polling service, to obtain "a demographically and statistically representative
survey asking Americans to name their most-loved novel." From the 7,200 participants, a list
featuring 100 fiction books was formed. You will find classics, best sellers, young adult novels,
science fiction/fantasy, historical fiction, adventure and romance. PBS launched with a 2 hour
special to present these 100 books; followed by 5 one-hour themed episodes and a finale to
announce America's Best Loved Novel. From the website, watch the videos, view the books
and vote for your favorite. The Grand Finale will premier on Tuesday, October 23rd.

The Book Thief, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Handmaid's Tale. The Picture of Dorian
Gray was nearly chosen as a discussion book; and Rebecca did get voted in (We discuss this
book on February 7).
I have read 20 of the listed books; and , I am inspired to put on my To Read List:
Looking for Alaska, Joy Luck Club, Ready Player One and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Pride & Prejudice and......
