If you are not familiar, there are 6 books in the series, and they are hefty volumes (book #1 is 850 pages). They have become so popular, the books are reproduced in the "Outlander" television series. If you are looking for an in-depth series, and like to see your books brought to life visually, then welcome to the wonderful world of Diana Gabaldon. The books are strong in storytelling, with the unforgettable characters of Claire Beauchamp Randall and Jaimie Foster, rich with historical detail. There is time traveling involved, starting out with 1945, with Claire transported to 1743 Scotland where she meets Jaimie.
