After the bookstore, came the bookmobile that travels to farmer markets, outdoor restaurants, and the suburbs of Nashville. There are 4 dogs that travel in the bookmobile: Opie, Belle, Sparky and Mary Todd Lincoln (the long haired dachshund featured in the above photo). The bookmobile is bright blue and has a winged horse on the side, and a serving window similar to a food truck. Wouldn't this be a great idea for libraries - bringing books directly to patrons! Some libraries have the budget for this service. Wouldn't it be wonderful if libraries everywhere had access to wheels, and the availability to bring books
to people directly. For now, in Clarkston, patrons find their reading selections at the library; but, envision a future with a extended library on wheels, perhaps populated by book loving canines, bringing the joy of reading beyond the library walls...........
